Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains for Wide Base Tires Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby, and today we're taking a look at the pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains with Cams here on our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So this can be a pretty decent way of giving yourself some traction control. The one thing I will say about it though, because of the limitations of our wheel and how close we are to our front struts, we're gonna be limited, only keeping this on the back wheels here of your Jeep Grand Cherokee. You are gonna need yourself a Class S compatible chain for those front tires. So if that's something you're looking for, I highly recommend the Konig XG-12 Pros, those are a really nice way to stay nice, low profile but giving you the traction control that we're looking for on those front tires. Now that can be really important for some because that's where a lot of our steering is gonna be coming from, from that front. more

So this is gonna be a pretty decent way, guys, of giving you some traction control. Now they're not gonna be your most aggressive option, but what's nice about that, they are gonna be a little smoother on your ride, but still giving you great traction control for that snow and ice that we might be encountering. So, we do have 16 millimeter thick chains here today and that is gonna kind of put us in a limitation on the Jeep Grand Cherokee. You might notice it's here on the rear wheel and that's gonna be because here in the back we have a lot more clearance with our wheel. more

Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be having a look at, and showing you how to install, the Titan chain alloy snow tire chains with a diamond pattern. Part number TC2326, and this is with tire size 265/50-20.Here's what our chains look like installed. The reason we're going to need a set of tire chains like this on our Grand Cherokee, even though it is four-wheel drive, the many places our customers go, especially on ski trips or to go camping, they are required by law in order for you to get to your destination when there's snow on the ground. Also, they are a great way of providing an extra sense of safety and security so you arrive at your destination safely.One great thing about these chains is that they are SAE Class S rated, and what that's going to allow us to do is provide ourselves ample clearance in our wheel wells, so we don't have to worry about damaging our vehicle, or getting them snagged on any of our break lines, or our AVS wires.What sets these chains apart from other options in the market is that these have a unique diamond pattern that's going to give us superior traction in snow and ice. The reason that is, is that the diamond pattern gives us more surface area of chain contacting the road, as opposed for traditional ladder style design, which just goes straight across the tire. By having more chain this gives us the ability to have more area to grab into the snow, and the ice to get us going, and to get us stopped safely.The one thing many of our customers like about these tire chains compared to others out there, is that the small link design gives us a smooth ride, and the reason for that is, it's not sticking up too far above the tire, so as the tire rotates, and you run over the individual links of the chain, it's not like you're driving over railroad tracks, which some of the taller chains kind of feels like you're doing as the tire rotates as you go down the road.One thing I really like about these chains is that they come in a nice case, so you have something to put them in when we're not using them, and we can easily store them in our vehicle for when we need them. more

The chains also have these cam tensioners, which will take up all the play in the chains that you may have once they're installed.These come in a quantity of two and they can be used in either the rear-wheel or the front-wheel drive vehicles or all-wheel drive, of course. Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on this 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to show you a Glacier tire chain, part number PW3027C. For reference, we're working with a tire size of 265 x 60 x 18. It's always a good idea to do a few tests with your chains, like what we're doing here. That way you're familiar with them when the time comes to use. First off, this lever right here always goes towards the outside of the tire. There's also a little flag on here that indicates the tire rotation once it's in place. more

Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on this 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to show you the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cams, Part Number TC2828CAM. Now, our tire size we're working with today is 265/60r18. When you get your snow chains, it's always a good idea to go ahead and do a test fit like what we're doing here. Be familiar with them, so when the time comes to use them, it won't be a problem. First, it's a good idea to lay them out on the ground, and we'll go ahead and show you what to look for. If you notice the series of these cams right here, these always stay towards the outside of the vehicle. If you take a look at a crossbar here, this whole assembly's a crossbar, you can see the V-links that are welded on top of the chain links. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be installing the Glacier Cable Snow Chain part number PW1046. This chain is designed for both 2 and 4-wheel drive vehicles and can fit the front or rear tire. Now when installing your cable, we'll first go ahead and lay it out to make it a lot easier. We'll want to make sure that the hook that connects the cable, the cross section to the cable is facing out and away from the tire. Then we'll lay the snow chain over our tire, drape it around and connect the 2 ends of our cable through the eyelet and hooking on the notch. Now note from side to side, we don't want more than 1 notch difference between the inside and the outside. We'll go and take it, lay it up over the top of the tire and bring it around the bottom. more

Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Thule self-tensioning snow tire chains for SUVs and crossover vehicles, part number TH01594265. We will be test fitting the tire chains on 265/60/18 tires. This vehicle is primarily rear wheel drive, so we will be installing the tire chains on the rear tires. To begin the test fit, we'll lay the chains flat out on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. We'll then start with the yellow end of the tire chain, and slide it underneath the inside of the tire. We'll then bring up the two ends and connect them on the inside of the tire. more

Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be test fitting the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains for light trucks, Part Number PW3027C. We'll be test fitting the tire chains on 265/60-18 tires. Now, this vehicle is primary rear-wheel drive, so we'll be installing the tire chains on the rear tires. To begin our test fit, we'll lay the chains flat on the ground to undo any chains for tangles. We'll then drape the tire chains over the tire, making sure that they are centered to ensure a good fit. We'll then move to the inside of the tire, where we will connect the male and female end of the tire chain. more

Thule XD16 Snow Tire Chains Review - 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee we'll be test fitting the Thule XD16 tire chains, part number TH04805265 on 265/16/18 tires. To begin our test fit we'll need to lay the chains out on the floor to get out any kinks that may be in the chain itself. We'll then take the blue cable and slide it underneath from the rear, behind the tire toward the front of the vehicle. With that done we'll grab both ends of the blue cable and bring them up around the top of the tire to connect it together. Here on the outside tire we'll connect the red chain link to the red hook. Here at the bottom we'll take the tension holder with the end of the grey cable and loop the cable through the holder, bringing it up and hooking it here to the side of the chain. Just like that our chains are on and we're ready to head out in the snow and ice. That competes our test fit of the Thule XD16 tire chains, part number TH14805265 on our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today this 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, were going to do a test to the part number PW2016C from Glacier Chains. Were going to start off our test by taking tire chain and laying it on the ground and make sure that the hooks or the crossbars are pointed the right way before you install it on the tire. Youre going to make sure that this hook faces the outside and also that the yellow flag will tell you to make sure you have the right chain on the right side, so left hand side tire rotation. Now we can go ahead and install them on the tire. Well take the tire chains, center them across the tread and will tuck this in to the front as far as possible. After we have centered and tucked in to your tire, well drive forward just a little bit just to have easier access to the other side of the chains. more
